Serendipitous Patio Serenity Photo Gallery

I am truly grateful. Grateful for the opportunity to set my sights on my business goals and for the opportunity to pursue them. Grateful for a husband who pours coffee for me, especially on the chaotic mornings with two preschoolers who wake at 4:00 am (!!!) since the time change. Grateful for my clients, who trust me with their homes, to make them cheerier and organized. Today, I was afforded the opportunity to install a beautiful and practical patio for a lovely family with three of the sweetest boys you’ve ever met. We commissioned Joe Ballard at Salt Creek Furniture Company in Wilmington, NC, to build us a farmhouse table, two benches and a buffet. After doing extensive (e-x-t-e-n-s-i-v-e) renovations on their historical home, the homeowners wanted to use some old heart pine from their reno to make the legs of the table. The husband is very detail oriented and he cut the existing wood into the most beautiful tapered legs. I was somewhat resistant to changing the original design at first, but the minor change made for a sleek, elegant twist on a traditional farmhouse look. He provided these legs to Joe and combining the two styles turned out to be a match made in farmhouse table heaven. We included some super-durable polypropylene rugs from Ballard Designs and old school galvanized metal accents and it resulted in a serene, rustic and completely practical space where the family of five can enjoy their dinners, fires in the fireplace, and even a little TV time (the dad brilliantly installed a TV over their outdoor fireplace). The greatest part about this project was the reveal. I approached the husband about installing the furniture and décor while his wife was at work and his response was, “I live to surprise her.” It was the sweetest gesture and she was beyond excited. I am so happy with the way this turned out and I’m even happier that I got to be the person to execute this surprise for this sweet, hard-working family. Indeed, it was a remarkable day.
