Living Room Envy Photo Gallery

It takes a tremendous amount of trust to allow someone to come into your home and make huge changes to your living space. I’m so grateful that this family was willing to put their trust in me. Some of the most rewarding aspects of this job are derived from the relationships we develop with the clients with whom we work. That was particularly the case in this design project. I was afforded the opportunity to work with this amazing family and we created a space that was the perfect marriage of functionality and aesthetics. We thoughtfully chose kid friendly fabrics and washable slipcovers to keep their furnishings looking new for years to come. The polypropylene rug we got at Maran Home is easy to clean, without sacrificing comfort or beauty.  The down-filled sofa is luxurious and accommodating for the taller members of the family and it’s comfy enough for the whole family to curl up to watch a movie. Our friends at AB Designs in Garner, NC made the custom coffee and end tables durable and sturdy and finished them with the softest gray-wash. We updated the fireplace in Greecian white mini subway tile and replaced the insert with something fun, clean and modern. We also carried over the tile detail into the kitchen back-splash to create a congruent look in the two spaces. Finally, we added a custom built-in mud room bench with storage for the kids to store their backpacks, shoes and school supplies. This project was as fun as it was rewarding and I think it’s safe to say I may have a bit of living room envy of my own.
